I feel the same way, but it’s not easy. Once you get to a certain point in life, you realize loving is scary – it takes courage and an acceptance of risk. But it’s still the best thing we can do in this world.

At last, my friend Emily and I have finished our first song! It’s our take on the Sir Chloe song Animal.

The total process took about three months from “Hey, let’s record a song! How about this one…?” to this final version.

I love Emily’s personal style and improvisations on the vocals. I’m hearing a hint of Gwen Stephanie and some Christina Aguilera. For the instrumentation, I was going for a slightly more mysterious guitar and drum sound than the Sir Chloe original.

Next up: take a breather, post this song somewhere more official, and then hopefully tackle another song? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe an original?

I love the proactive attitude behind this quote from the author of The Little Prince.

Your task is not to foresee the future, but to enable it.

Life imitates art. The Little Prince is narrated by a pilot who crash-lands his airplane. And sadly enough, the author himself crashed – and died – while flying an airplane in France a year after the novel’s publication.

But the author did enable his future, even under Nazi-occupied France. It just took some patience – The Little Prince was published in his home country only after liberation from the Nazis.
