This site is kind of amazing. There are a bunch of people all over the world who want to greet you into their city. For free. Just to be nice.
Really, there is no catch here. The internet doing good things. Crazy, but true.
Also, don’t forget Couch Surfing!
It may seem counterintuitive, but one of the best ways to reduce stress while traveling is to just plan less and let spontaneity take over.
I love that someone is actually saying this. Sure, plan the first part of your vacation. But leave some time for discovery, spontaneity, and to plan as you go. And you don’t necessarily have to leave that amazing place you found just yet . βΊοΈ
There is another way: Book only the first few days. While I know for most travelers, particularly those with families, such an extreme lack of planning seems impossible, even unadvisable, I strongly recommend considering planning less, even if thatβs leaving just a few days ope
Austin City Limits Music Festival (aka ACL) put together a pretty nice page of stuff to do while visiting Austin. As a local, I’m going to use this as inspiration to get out there and do all the things.

As featured in The Special. Gotta see this next time we’re in Houston. Tour information, fun facts (1.5 football fields large, 17-second echo, …), etc.
